You don't look much like one either, as I recall.

Ah, but you haven't seen me with my flag pole run out and doing the Jolly Roger?

Thankfully, no.

I personally wouldn't agree with that statement. I've seen others use them and thought they weren't that good. Last winter there was one attached to a SMB and you couldn't see it from 50m away, it was too dim.

If you're going night diving buy a good strobe, like a Jotron AQ4, they might be expensive but they can be seen a long way off. I'd rather be on the boat while they look for someone else than have them looking for me.

That particular light stick thingy is a good design (if it's the one I'm thinking about). It's bright enough to be seen almost 15m in 5m vis. I think that's visible enough.

It was obviously a different one from the Aquatec one I saw, we tied one to a shot once, never found the shot again. It just doesn't have the Lumens!

We tied a Jotron to a shot and could see it 40m away, the skipper could also see the Jotron from the surface.

Well, if I surface and the skipper can't see the Aquatec, coupled with my searchlight-like Halcyon torch beam, he shouldn't be anywhere near a boat.

The Aquatec isn't for tying to a shot, it's purely to go on top of the SMB which the skipper usually instructs us to deploy about 20-25 mins into the dive.
