| I'm glad to see so many people agree with this. I never had the old version so can't compare it to the new one, but pound for pound it is a cracking little light. James

| Ooooh, This is a good thread, I bought one of these lensers as a back up for the recent October Mull trip. Didnt have to use it in anger since the Lite Cannon was in full flow. Am taking the wee one to Red Sea on Friday and will give it a good thrashing errrr, try it out properly :-) Glad to hear that they are a good choice C |

| used the switch variety on martin farr's C&OE course. couldn't fault the lamp and easy enough to mount to a helmet. will be getting another 2 or 4 for that purpose. |

| Back from Red Sea trip and used the torch as a back up. It was fllawless. Very happy with it. I put a blob of silicon grease on the retaining screw for the switch in the hope that it will prevent it rusting (as suggested earlier in this thread) Good buy, good bye :-) C |

| The latest type (with the switch) is much brighter thanks to its improved electronics.

| The torch used in this vid is a new style Lenser Frogman. It can be seen best at the back end of the vid when I'm on the platform. ColinM

| How are people still getting on with these? A mate of mine has a sports equipment company and he's now supplying LED Lenser torches, in fact he told me he'd got some so I've been down today and done his stockcheck only to find he'd ordered everything except a bloody diving torch .He's prepared to buy a couple in (there are 3 different models) to see what they are like and would no doubt be happy to discount them for the YD massive (subject to talking to Jay) if they are any good. But if after a couple of months of use they turn into a pile of rust, then there's no point for anyone. I own their keyring torch and they are top quality, so I assume the frogman is the same, but assumption is the mother of all xxxx ups, so it's worth checking I might have to be an official tester Arfie

| Mine has been out of commission recently as I had overtightened the head and left it in my pocket for a few dives (as it's my backup). When it came time to use it the head was stuck shut and upon surfacing I could unscrew the metal from the clear plastic head (which isn't supposed to happen). I was at the Scottish Dive Show recently and spoke to someone who was showing off the LED Lensers and asked what I should do with mine, he suggested just superglue-ing the metal back onto the plastic which I have done and I'll have it out for a test dive this weekend. He also said that the new version with the switch is more powerful than the first version, I have no way to verify but perhaps someone on here has both. I'd say it's a perfect little torch, great for a first torch or as a back-up. It isn't a battery monster, I tried to discharge some batteries by leaving the torch running but had to give up after 24hrs+ with no noticeable signs of dimming. That said, I don't know if the torch will dim towards the end of the batteries lifetime or abruptly stop. |
