Rob - Quick question - can this be run on NiMh batteries. I am thinking of high capacity AA 2700mha (with C cell adaptors). Realise that this will affect bouyancy but don't want to have to buy C cells plus charger.

Stuck the 5W module into my LS4 and boy is it bright. Knocks spots off the standard 2W and the old 3W.

The Salvo is quietly gathering dust. I am almost tempted to flog it.

used mine for the first time in anger at Stoney yesterday. The new head makes all the difference. It seemed brighter than my buddies UK D8R, probably because it gives a whiter light. I had planned to get some video footage but I had some problems with frozen fingers in the 6 degree water.
As a first dive light, for those who don't want to spend big bucks on umbilicals etc, I don't think you'd do much better than this for the money. As led's become even brighter it is a 15 second job to change the module yourself so there is a simple upgrade path too. You are stuck with just the one choice of optic though ( a 10 degree beam ) which is a shame as I think having a choice of a narrower and a broader optic would be nice.
