New Tektite torch

Well my Princeton Tec surge broke and flooded last week and I need a torch suitable for a weeks diving in Egypt in a couple of weeks. I want something robust, not too big, and bright enough for Red Sea night dives, plus useable for UK sea diving until I can afford an umbilical at which time I will keep it for backup. I'm thinking this should do...

Tektite - LED Flashlights, LED Replacement Bulbs, Dive Lights, IR, Strobes, Marker Lights, UV, CSI, LZ kits, & Tekna Knives and lites

Not available in the UK but I can order direct. Opinions please...

No, the torch is not shown on the UK site so I emailed Tektite in USA. They told me it won't be available here for several weeks

If the claimed output is true, it must be one awesome torch!

Q. Why did the razorbill raise her bill?

A. So the sea urchin could see her chin!

Looks like a nice piece of kit. Does anyone know how these ones switch on and off?

Having just lost my beloved Peli LED "Lightsabre" to flooding I'm a bit down on the "twist the lens" idea although to be honest it was probably my own fault for being lazy with the O ring maintenance

EDIT I've just answered my own question, it IS a twist on job! Hmm, what to do?

it's on eBay from a UK company. i've used them before and they are very good.

Find Worlds Most Rugged Flash Light - Tektite Excursion LS4 on eBay within, Dive Lights Torches, SCUBA Snorkelling, Sporting Goods (end time 21-Nov-07 22:15:00 GMT)

i'm awful tempted by this torch. it's that or save the pennies and go for the handheld 10w salvo. it'll be my primary. don't think the sort of diving i do requires a 700 quid torch.

decisions... decisions...
