My original connectors finally broke after a few years of working fine. Phil replaced then for me but the new connections I have (red and green) are bigger so a bit of a tight fit.

I have had problems since with bad contacts inside the connector. I have had three incidence where I thought I had blown a bulb mid dive but it turned out to be this connection.

Can you electrical wiz boys out there recommend a replacement connection that I can get from maplins or RSS?

I can use a soldering iron and crimping tools.

To be honest the Poweroples are pretty good, mine are red and black.

Powerpole Connectors

The problem lies with how well the connection to the power pole is made. I repaired mine quite easily with crimps and a bit of solder but the cable had also arced and gone brittle at the battery end so I ended up with a new battery. I repaired the old one anyway with a bit of new cable.

For me the real weak spot with these batteries is where the cable is just soldered on to the battery cell. Its not that strong and if this comes off it isnt that easy to repair neatly. Plus you have to remove some of the black heat shrink do do this. I would Reccomend wraping the whole thing up in insulation tape too.

You can see from the photo that the battery on the right with the tape I have lenghthened cable, this puts less stress in the cable.

It will only be a matter of time before I have to repair the other one im sure.

My light came with the powerpole type connectors, they are and American standard and are quite rare in the UK. They are available on eBay here and there but be careful which size you buy. The easiest way to get them is to pick up the phone and call Phil at divingniknaks.

QUOTE=Ricky2703;842978]Can someone please post a picture of your repair. The cable from my battery pack to the connector has fused together (outer sheath not copper) and become brittle and I want to replace it.
Thanks Ricky[/quote]

I am a knob.
I have just got off the phone to nicknacks and the cables from my battery pack to the connector are not fused together or brittle, they are super glued together at the factory to protect them.
