Looking after a Salvo battery

I was just thinking how my Salvo usually gets used for an hour or so, and then fully re-charged before the next dive.

is that good for the battery ??

I remember a while back how batteries used to lose charge if not discharged or run completely flat regularly

how do others look after their battery ??

Ni-Mh doesn't suffer from memory issues so no worries on that front.

Ash - I think that happens to Lead Acid batteries - the 'battery effect' - but as Rob says Ni-MH doesn't suffer from it.

there is an interesting post here

and happy birthday by the way..

Apparently you shouldn't store them discharged. Best to keep topping up occasionally.

It's Ni-Cad that suffers from 'memory effect'. I'm not entirely sure that Ni-MH is immune to it although my Salvo still burns for as long as it did when I first bought it. I'm clearly not doing enough diving!

You'd knacker your car battery pretty quickly if that was the case.
