Scubapro Nova Vs GF C2eto

Looking for a small but bright torch,

primarily for night dives around the tropics but also for poking about in holes back in the UK

any opinions on either of the above or any other suggestions?

c2eto is about as expensive as i can go.

What about a Tek-tite 5 watt LS4 Expedition? Lumb Bros £80/£90*. Really solid, bright LED?

Diver Mag this month (Feb) has a side by side comparison of the sort of lamp you are after with pictures of beams and figures for brightness. If you wait three weeks it will be on Divernet - Diver Magazine Online and much more | Diving | Dive Shows | Gear Tests | Travel | News

I have a C2ETO, it's an excellent torch, got from Rob Lumb of this parish and I'm really impressed by it's power, obviously the beam is pretty narrow but it's a clear, bright, white light which penetrates well. I don't know where you live but if you are down south and wanted to meet up at wraysbury or similar you are welcome to have a try with it.

Like Mal I have a couple of Heser backup torches from Dublinbay and they are great torches, I did wonder why these weren't in the Divernet comparison.

They take 3 C cell batteries and I did a burn test with mine and I turned it off after 42 hours

I was also looking at the c2eto but after speaking to Rob Lumb I opted for the tektite 5w LS4 expedition. Its a fantastic little torch good burn time and is very solidly made.

I suggest you give Rob a pm and see what he can do for you.
