Not necessarily, as I and others have created reproduction packs using the same GP cells that Greenforce do. Soldering is not really recommended because of the heat being put through the battery - ideally they should be spot welded using nickel tabs.

arrow 12 with 4300 mah batteries

With the debris of the previous fix on there you probably have no choice but to solder. A decent bit of wire should be ok - try to use something similar to the positive and negative flying leads. They take the full current without any dramas. Might be hard to get it all back in the can afterwards, though.

The whole pack should really be shrink-wrapped to limit the forces on each joint.

In an F2 there are probably ten GP 18670 (450LAH) 1.2v 4500mAh cells in series (or some use 4300mAh). That gives 12v and 4500 mAh, which is enough current to do damage so caution against shorting is advised.

shrink wrap comes in several types 2:1 3:1 shrinkage factor. all I have found in the UK has been very thin. This make a nice small pack but is not as tough as the thicker shrink wrap I have cut off old batteries any know where to buy the thicker stuff. I have now resorted to black gaff tape, if it fits inside canister its much tougher than the thin stuff..

I couldn't easily find anything suitable either - so used gaffer as well.
