You want to be more worried about retaining it to said hardness with a bit of bike inner tube. Personally I use truck inner tube....mostly around my rippling six pack, of course.

New style frogman lensor out performs a Halcyon Scout and cost less than £40.00. My buddy has one and it makes my C8 look dim.

I've got a D4R as my main torch, but am about to acquire a new frogman lenser. Reading the above, sounds like the frogman will be as bright as the D4? Does sound reasonable?

For my diving, 30 metre max, no deco I am hoping that the Frogman will be a replacement for the D4. I will keep my little c4 as a backup.

I've got a 5W Tektite LS4 and it's bloody bright. I've also got the 2W and 3W to compare it with and the 5W knocks spots off them.

I would get a frogman lenser as a backup. Ive used the old style one as a primary light for lots of uk diving and ive been very pleased with its brightness and durability. The new ones have a better switch and are supposed to be quite a bit brighter too. I also think that using LED torches as a backup is much better than normal bulbs due to there reliabilty as they do not have bulbs to blow and they have amazing battery life. I can get 10 to 20 dives out of 4 AA's in my frogman, and even then its still going quite strong. Look at feburary's dive magazine it performed nearly as well as a £400 greenforce tristar yet cost £40, a total bargin. Plus its a nice well made piece of kit. Nuff Said.

I'm more than happy with the new Northern Diver Luxeon, brighter than my old C8 eled and less than £40 too
