Thanks to Lumb Bros

After months of deliberation yeserday I put in an order with Lumb Bros for a new torch this arived today wrapped in a Green Force towel and packed in a very nice bag. I am very pleased with the service from Lumb Bros, Rob spent a lot of time discussing the possible options. In the end I spent far less money than I thought I would have too. The big test will be when I go out and dive with my new torch.

Graham.

Yeah, that's what I found with Lumbs too. Rob is a star!

Hope you can blind as many people as I do! (Although that's probably just my incompetant waving it around! )

Sadly when I went to their stand at LIDS I didnt find the person I spoke to very helpful. I explained that I was looking to buy a torch not an umbilical and what I was prepared to spend. I was handed over a torch to look at and I asked what I thought were normal questions such as lumen burn time etc. I also asked how it was switched on, to be told to turn the head. I made a comment that I flooded my frogman which turned on the same way to be informed by the man "only a muppet floods a torch." My reply was well this muppet is going elsewhere to spend her money.

I was very disappointed as I had heard such positives about Lumb Bros maybe it was just a bad day for the guy I spoke to or maybe it was because I was female, anyway I spent my £150 elsewhere and I got a lovely torch with a nice white beam.

That is a shame. Certainly was a stupid thing for the guy to say, I'm sure he was probably only making a joke but agree with you that it probably wasn't sensible.

For future reference the Frogman Lenser and the Greenforce torches are different in that the Frogman unscrews slightly to turn it on, the Greenforce tightens to turn it on, to turn it off you obviously unscrew but it takes multiple turns and it's protected by 2 O-rings from flooding. In that case it would have to be unscrewed a lot for it to flood.

Sounds like you had an unfortunately experience with them. Rob's a diamond and I'm sure would have done better. Hope it doesn't put you off them too much in the future.

Rob
Hi, Thank you for responding to my comments and your apologies. As I said I had only heard positive comments about your company so was rather disapointed, however it has passed now but I will bear in mind your suggestion to ask for you in the future.

Regards

Yaz
