Torches: Discuss Salvo : Focusable ?? in the Dive Kit and Equipment forums: As it says are they ? Somebody told me they were but I thought they were all fixed at 6 degrees ?...

Question Salvo : Focusable ??
As it says are they ? Somebody told me they were but I thought they were all fixed at 6 degrees ?

There is 2 types:

Fixed focus (6 degrees)
Variable Focus (Focus-able by adjusting the reflector via the thumb screw)

The LEDs and 10W hand held HiDs seem to be fixed focus.

The big guns (18W, 21W, 24W, 35W & 50W HiDs) are all focus-able.

Mine is (21W 9Ah). I had a 10W 4.5Ah which I flogged to Frosty; that was focusable too.

There's not much range of adjustment, but enough to get a nice tight beam. Not enough to turn it into a wide-angle floodlight though if that's what floats your boat.

Heheh sorry not very helpful was it

I don't think the LEDs are, but looking at the new Havoc HIDs the pics show the grub screw that mine also has that allows the shroud to move and adjust the beam so I'd guess that they are.

You're all correct.

Rebel LED's are fixed focus (with a sweet tight spot)

Havoc range are focusable.
