I have had the Rat Jnr and the 5W LS4 which is almost the same as the Expedition Star. Rat Jnr has a tight spot of blueish light . The LS4 has a larger spread of a whiter light. Both are very bright for what they are. Both seem really robust. The Salvo would fit in a small pocket. There is a really good review on here if you search for Salvo Rat.

Thanks, I've read the review of the Rat Jnr and it does look very good. It seems to boil down to a size issue, I need to find something the same size as the expedition and work out where it will fit on my kit.

| Just had 5 divers using the Tektite 5W LS4 as primarys in the SOM. They're brilliant.

The 5W tektite is a work of art. Beautifully constructed, and enormously bright for a backup. Top marks.

My Tektite Expedition Star has just turned up. It looks like a really well made piece of kit and I got great service from Lumb Bros. I've just got to take it into the water now, three week wait though

Got one of these on holidays recently Tektite Expedition 300, 7 LED from LeisurePro.com Nice and bright and has a great solid feel to it. Lot brighter than my Photon Torpedo (which I don't have the heart or wallet to upgrade to the LED version). Used the Tektite on a night dive recently, water was dead clear. Seemingly it's gone to pot now, so will try it again in the murk this weekend.
