Welch Allen(sp) bulbs 18w

Anybody now the cheapest place to get 18w HID welch Allen bulbs ? It is for a Custom Divers torch ,not certain if the Halcyon 18W with welch Allen is the same fitting .

colin i would think they are the same because on the 10 watt welch alleyn bulbs the bulbs fitted in custom divers halcyon and greenforce torches.because the bulbs are round shaped at the bottom the ballast is made with a special reciever for the bulb.have never used the 18 watt bulb.ask alex from custom divers was it the same shape ballast and bulb as the 10 watt.

Spoke to him & they are the same fitting but obviously I cann't use the 10w in my 18w (doh )
but at CD's price of £200 I will keep looking !

They are medical optical equipment bulbs, that's what the original use was for. Some medical suppliers had them for a bit less but once you added on VAT and ridiculous delivery charges they were more expensive than DIR Direct. There was a US Halcyon dealer selling them sheaper but I'm not sure what the postage charges were like. Welch Allyn told me that the 18W bulb was superseded by the 21W bulb anyway which works off the same ballast. They said they weren't making any more 18W but since then other people have said they bought them so who knows? Might be old stock.

I've got a 18W bulb spare, it was in my Halcyon slug which the ballast flooded on (sodding Halcyon crap!!!! worst light I've ever owned!!!!!!!). I've just bought a Salvo light head to replace it with so it's now surplus to requirements.

Make me a reasonable offer and I'll consider it.
