Flooded Custom Divers ST1

I bought a second hand Custom Divers ST1 (halogen) a while back for a mighty agreeable price. It has since served me very well and it's a fantastic torch, but recently it didn't turn on and I removed the top with a sinking feeling to be greeted with the sight seen below. The umbilical had unscrewed itself as it seems the thread holding it had been stripped and the locking nut on the inside hadn't done what it said on the tin.

I'm not too bothered - The head is fine and lead acid batteries are cheap to replace if they're knackered (although a pain to dispose properly). I would quite like to stop it from happening again though... Silicon sealant? Epoxy resin? Anyone got any good suggestions?

Give Alex a call at Custom Divers and ask him the best sulotion in the repair and also ask him why the flooding happened.

Sorry, I should probably clarify that I have no issue with the torch. It's built like a brick (head has been trodden on twice without a scratch) so I'm assuming it's something myself of a previous owner has done.

Cheers John, I'll try to get in touch with CD and see if they have any advice.
