James I can loan you either a 15 ah Salvo 21W HiD with 8.5hrs burn time or a 21ah 50W HiD with 4 hrs of burn time.

I have to help my sister move some stuff in Whitechapel so if you're still in Docklands then getting it in your mitts shouldn't be too tricky either....

Hmmmmm. I got my torch about 2 weeks after ordering it. Unfortunately it was from the bad batch and broke on its first outing. I sent it back to niknaks two weeks ago yesterday. Salvo in the US are yet to receive my torch for repair (two weeks after niknaks got it back). I still have absolutely no idea when I will have it back. I cant believe it takes two weeks to send something to the US. And once they get it they still have to fix it or replace it and then send it back.

So im still in the dark 5 weeks after placing my order.

I seem to here a lot of stuff on here about good quality service from niknaks and salvo but that is not what I have experienced. In my opinion Salvo should have replaced the torch with a new one (without the batch problem) straight away rather than leaving me in the dark (pun intended).

It wasnt much fun diving the Robert at the weekend in poor viz with a backup torch.

Its such a shame as for the one dive when it did work it was amazing.

You should try calling them.

Admitedly their communication could be a bit better but I am happy with the service I have received today.

Our torches were held up in Heathrow customs.

They would have just sent us new ones but they would have been from the same dodgy batch. How bad would that be!

I think you should call them, maybe they can lend you something.

And yes, when it did work it was cool!

You see, that's what happens when you spend a ridiculous amount of money on something that just doesn't work.

Got £2 in your pocket?

Then i'll flog you one of these. Guaranteed to burn longer than a Salvo and it's got the magic "H" on the side to keep everyone happy

I was in email contact yesterday, thats how I know Salvo havent recieved my torch back yet. It would have been nice if they had offered to lend me a torch in the mean time.

I wont be buying american again if its this much hassle to get things fixed. I just hope when I finally get it back it never breaks again.

Despite receiving poor service from DivingNikNaks recently - I still believe that they do a good job on the whole - for most of the people most of the time.

Her Majesty's Customs will do what they will do I'm afraid, there is nothing that can be done to speed things up in this situation, I agree it's bloody frustrating.

They/we would have if they/we could. That possibility didn't exist.

Which makes it all the more galling all round I agree.

This is an unprecedented situation in terms of problems, I do know that Barry and team are doing all they can to fix the situation ASAP.

I can only apologise on behalf of Salvo and of course ourselves.

Thanks for the kind words, we do try our best and sometimes don't get it quite right. Hopefully they are few and far between.

I have to say though most of your problem wasn't our fault, we despatched your order the day after receiving it, Royal Mail then f*cked it up, not us.

The replacements that we sent (without having received the others from Royal Mail returns and we still haven't) did take a few days longer than I said they would due a comms cock up between me and Amanda, for that I apologise.
