Unhappy My Greenforce has Broken..

It hasn't really... is been 100% reliable. I've had it for nearly 4 years now. Its not even run out of battery. (between charges) I realise that the Salvo is a different beast, and has a huge fan club on here... but is it me...or are there very problems with Greenforce torches....?

I was wondering if anyone had experienced an bad failures...

Come on Rob, spill the beans, are they all as good as mine...?

My umbilical 10W HID has a few issues, turns out to be 2 things:

1) build up of crap on the contacts, give them a good clean off with abrasive brush.

2) Battery compression. The batteries in the long tube can compress if you overtighten the umbilical (I did!) use a washer with a hole placed in the bottom of the battery tube to lift them up a bit. Needs a hole so the gas from discharging when in use can escape out the gas valve at the end.

Give Rob at lumb bros a call. He was happy to spend 20mins on the phone just giving advice, and he knows the GF's inside out.

I had a similar problem on mine and solved it the same way.....I now take the head off the torch and charge it through the umbilical.

my greenforce went a little wonky last weekend and after cleaning the contacts it

worked ok but in the past ive had an umbilicall that has created either a short or

a break in the wire rendering it useless!

that was before i got the f2 with the 35 watt pro head that now burns with a 50

watt halogen !

i always charge mine through the umbilical conection

F3 with a 250 Watt HID. Bought it drunk on eBay one night, but no regrets. Tough as old boots and is as good as any other torch i have seen.

On a different note, anyone got the 150 watt HID and how does it compare to the Salvos?

It's a beast, isn't it! Exactly what I have. Bloody bright! (sometimes too bright!)

One well known man described it as a "sun in a bucket" which I think is very accurate! The head is pretty massive, good for clubbing large creatures over the head with
