| Li-Ion dont give off dangerous gases when charging, they have considerably higher capacity than NiMH for the same size, they are simpler to charge and care for. On the downside they are a bit more pricey (but not alot now).. Basically Li-Ion batteries knock spots off NiMH technology which is now somwhat dated (all phones, laptops etc are now Li-Ion)

| I had a look on the Greenforce site and gives some interesting info. Li-Ion have a lifespan of 2-3 years if they are used or not. They also only maintain a good charge for 300 cycles.... where as Nimh can be charged 1000 times and have a longer lifespan.

| Ni-MH loose capacity too. I doubt you will get 1000 good charges out of them. Still theres nothing wrong with NiMH but just old technology and not as good as Li-Ion. Depends what you want really. Greenforce seem to be a bit behind the times these days not offering Li-Ion. Also their LED torches are a bit dated too. Not anywhere near as bright as some offerings around. Its about time they released a new LED head. Good value for money though

| SLA's are ancient technology. I saw someone at vobster today with a Salvo (or Halcyon) HID with a HUGE SLA battery canister. I couldnt believe how big it was. F Knows how DIR boys hang that on the waist belt. It was about the size of a 5litre stage !

| But its so bulky. Im all for offseting weight on the belt with a torch battery but the form factor puts me off. A big round tub strapped to my waist. No thanks. The Li-Ion Salvo packs look much better to me.
