Why sell the metalsub to buy a different HID torch - is it just shopping mania or is there a good reason? I've seen the metalsubs in action and they're good torches.

cheers, ant

The beams aren't focusable and are harder to make a clear signal with in bright conditions.

If you are training with a "DIR" angle this in an important feature as your light is your "voice" and good communication is essential to stop us becoming separated. A clear signal also helps resolve difficult issues when technical diving, if you need the assistance of a buddy quickly. The lights are also easier to mount securely on the right hip using your webbing waist strap.

Hi Ant,

I could not agree more, the Metalsub torch is a fantastic torch and I am loathe to get shot of it, especially as it is so new. Shopping Mania? I wish, but no, the problem I have is that I dont want to mount the battery on the tanks but want it belt mounted, hence the reason for looking at the canisters.

I have managed to hang the 9amp battery from the belt with some success but it is just does not seem as though I am doing it right (therein lies the clue) and is less than satisfactory. If I am going to swap torches best I do it now while the Metalsub is still quite new and worth more.

Graham

I voted purely in the interest of balance as it does seem a little unfair for Retailers/Distributors to vote, clearly the OP was looking for other less biased views.

I declare my interest in the matter publicly.
