| I think you can just get unlucky torches. I had a Halcyon Proteus 3 that averaged a bulb every dive trip, btu i know someone that treats theirs with utter contempt, reguarly drops his kit on it, and yet it has never failed once. Equally I went through two or three savlos that were just a bag of shit until Phil sorted me out with the current one which, again, has never failed me, despite me driving over the cable, dropping my twinset on it, the usual etc I think there's just not enough made of them, by any brand, to ensure quality standards are as high as they could be with a higher output. although they are all great torches, every now and again you get a duff one. they also have to stand up to a hell of a lot of abuse, and by and large do a bloody good job of doing so. |
