| Hi, Just had my 10w HID done at custom divers, new battery, switch and connector and it was £150 you have to think if it is worth cutting your losses and putting the dosh towards a new torch. Safe Diving. |

| How deaded is it, which bits did you flood? As was said above its pricey to get the whole thing fixed, someone like me might want to buy the reamining bits dependant on whats still working Cheers, Pete

| I've seen flooded unworking heads and cannisters (no batteries) sell for £60-100 on ebay Chris it'd be worth getting a quote but seriously consider selling it as it is and getting a replacement

| how long was it flooded for? If it was momentary and the battery was disconnected imediately even the battery may be salvageable. If not then do you know someone else with the same torch who will lend you bits for testing? In the case of a fresh water flood, try washing the flooded canister and connectors out with de-Ionised water (dirt cheap from halfords or similar) and once it's had 48 hours in the airing cupboard to dry, connect up a new battery and it may work fine. One of my mates flooded his 21W salvo with salt water the 1st week he had it (definitely his fault, muppet jumped in with 1 clip undone, and then left it full of salt water for the next hour!) and that needed a new battery, new umbilical cable and a new switch. That came to sub £200 TBH this is where the old SLA torches win hands down. A new battery for them is £10-15 HTH Simon A Last edited by Simon A : 01-06-08 at 09:38 PM. |
