For the love of God....How do I charge my Salvo?

I'm finally going to get to dive on my Salvo Rebel (it didn't arrive in time for my trip to South Africa) but it shipped with no manual and there doesn't seem to be any manuals on the Web showing you how to charge the bloody thing.

Could anyone please enlighten me?

James

Refer to manufacturers details , however this is the way I charge mine

Take out battery pack - do not connect to charger yet!

Plug in charger and switch on.

Let charger cycle through its LED sequence so it detects that there is no battery attached (charger light goes something like green, red, off).

Connect battery to charger (charger light should turn red)

Check back after about an hour - if the light has turned green, disconnect, switch off, switch on and reconnect

Unplug next morning and put battery pack in torch.

Try to remember to connect battery pack to torch before going diving!

I mean the question I am asking is more basic than that - how, in the good name of Bruce Forsyth, do I get the battery out?

Do I just undo the 3 small allen nuts at the bottom?

I've already tried that but the two parts seem well stuck together. I don't know if the two parts of the base just separate or whether you have to twist them - I don't want to do it wrong in case I damage an O ring.

If it does not have 2 clips like this

then perhaps it is this model

which looks like you undo the light head.

The two large clamps on the side should be released and the lid comes off, do not undo any bolts, if the clamps won't release the locking tabs are doing their job, these are thin tabs of metal sticking out part way up the clamp - push them in and lift the bottom of the clamps up towards the lid.

Ok, do you mean the Rebel as in:

Salvo Rebel 4.5 Ah NIMH 10 Watt Focusable Torch, 10 Watt Rebel NiMH Lights at divingniknaks 0121 707 5783. Frog, Dirzone, Agir Brokk Scuba Diving Gear

or do you mean the hand held jobbie?

9W LED Hand held light, 9 Watt LED Hand Held light at divingniknaks 0121 707 5783. Frog, Dirzone, Agir Brokk Scuba Diving Gear

If it's the second - no idea, sorry

Edit: Doh! I'm too slow!

Mine doesn't look like either of these, it is this one:

No clamps on the side but allen bolts on the bottom. I've tried unscrewing the head and it just rotates to a certain point until you no longer feel resistance but it just makes a small click-click noise (I assume as it goes over the beginning of the thread).

OOoooo

Does it use some kind of field effect to charge it, like some electric tooth brushes? I'd expect an equally obvious place for it to fit the charger though.

Does the cable come out of the head with a plug?

Adrian
