| I tried out a Pelican 2010 LED as a backup torch on a caving trip, worked very well. The beam & reflector are supposed to be designed for use in smoke or dusty spaces, I found it worked quite well in poor vis/turbid water. Bright, nice beam, very tough torches (designed for hazardous environment use, 100m+ depth rating). Twist on, 3 C cells. Only criticism is that the attachment point for a bolt snap is a bit shite. They're about £40 each.

| Princeton Tek shockwave LED I had a ukc8 eled 6watt led which wasn't bad as a primary but it just didn't cut it at 42m in Anglesey vis.. So I upgraded a little (3watts to be precise)to a 3x3watt leds and it is much brighter. My bro has an old UK800R and side by side the theres not much in it, exept my battery last longer The new UKC8+ looks a good buy, 2 x 5w leds,it has electronic control so you get constant brightness even as the battery drops, downside is theres little warning when the battery does die. Regards Karl

| Everyone in our club now has the Tektite LS5 after seeing mine in action. They're absolutely brilliant. Knock a poxy Frogman Lenser into a cocked hat in terms of both brightness and build quality.
