[QUOTE=StephenT;991397]2. Shoppers wishing to buy shotguns/ammo seem to be of far more importance to the shop workers than divers ever seem to be.[QUOTE]

Seems reasonable to me. I suspect I'd be rather polite so somebody who buys that sort of thing.

when did you buy the torch and was it sent from deep blue or ourselves.if it was sent by us and it is our mistake i will send you one immediately free of charge of cousre.if deep blue sent it i will personally get onto them and sort it out for you,to be fair to deep blue they normally only buy mostly umbilical torches so i know how the mistake could have been made.
deep blue did call us yesterday but we were not made aware what torch combination had been sold.

please call me on 0161-681-5790 asap so we can sort this out.

    cheers

I think Rob Lumb is the distributor of the product. The supplier is actually based up in the frozen north and is a seperate company.

Oh Oh ! Just noticed. DeepBlue's description says Tristar Plus LED head dimmable- 50W equiv.

Lumb bros. Website says that head is 30W equiv.

Further mis-information ? I'm beginning to the suspect that the chances of getting what I thought I'd paid for are receding.

You know there is nothing more boring than reading all your responses to my posts, although maybe I should be pleased you take so much interest in them.

Someone on BSAC suggested the OP post on YD, I suggested he contact Lumb Bros, which he did eventually after posting the same thread on here. You know what sometimes you don't have to post the same issue on every forum, he had an issue then go to the people who can sort them out.

    Sorry Fiona,

I re-posted on the YD Forum becasue i was told this was a more responsive and active forum than the BSAC Forum. In addition with this being Yorkshire divers, i presummed this meant local divers - who may also possibly be affected the advert from the dive shop in question.

Yes, i did speek to Rob at Lumb Bros, and he was extremely helpful. Rob however, did not resolve my issue, i am hoping (don't want to rock the boat to much that this has now been resolved with the dive shop in question) i will let you know when i recieve my new head and handle. Rob did offer to put pressure on the dive shop if my issue was not resolved.

    So Yes, thumbs up Rob!

I have returned my head today (to the dive shop) and anticapiate a return sometime early next week. Until then fingers crossed.

wow - you know I hardly pop onto YD nowadays - but when I do I'm always pleased to see that you're continuing to promote harmony, understanding, and friendship on YD. Good for you for making such a positive contribution to the well being of newbies and the general non judgemental culture of the site. It's a real achievement. Well done.

i use deep blue on a regular basis for fills and to buy kit

i must say i have found them to be nothing other than helpful

sure they are not all divers so what ,everybody who works in a hopspital is not a doctor

if you need help ask and they will get someone

as for being ignored i think they like to let you look around without being haseled

there is nothing worse than a pushy salesman !

one of the owners is a ex instructor ,one of the workers is a msdt and they are always at hand to help

most of all there prices are very keen and i suspect that is the reason people use them, even the ones that moan

in the end we all want cheap gear and thats what they are all about

    just my 2p worth
