Someone on BSAC suggested the OP post on YD, I suggested he contact Lumb Bros, which he did eventually after posting the same thread on here. You know what sometimes you don't have to post the same issue on every forum, he had an issue then go to the people who can sort them out.
It was me that suggested to Russ that he post on YD. And this seems to have had the desired effect. Bearing in mind that Lumb Bros did not sell the stuff to him. It was also only after having a couple of bad phone calls with the supplier.

A few more calls seems to have sorted stuff out. I think this was result of posting on YD rather than BSAC forum.

This is probably because the shops are more aware of the YD forum.

Lets Resolve this issue, thats seems to be causing some of you problems in understanding!

Mark Pallister; the origional post was not posted to discredit Deepblue divestore. As it is titled, I had taken issue with the clarity of the advert!.. and was simply asking if other's could see where i was missled.

Re; Warmwater diver/Mark Pallisters previous post; I did infact initially before any posts were made contact the dive shop in question (deepblue) to which my issue was not resolved to MY satisfaction hence the reason i made the god damn post!....

After recieving my order i realised that there was no handle, as i had expected. I looked at the web page which clearly showed the handle in both images. I contacted deep blue asking why there was NO handle; and the response i recieved was the handle has been removed from product as of three months ago...

I explained that the images clearly showed my package with the handle and that removing the handle from the hand held torch was chaging the products specification. Which i thought maybe, i should have been informed prior to purchase (simply by tagging a line on the webpage would have been sufficient).

I asked Holly (staff) politley, that as this could be seen as missleading, ccould they atleast send me a handle for my product free of charge. I then suggested they change their web page accordingly. To which DeepBlues response was; No to all, i would noty be issued a handle.

Hence then my initial post on the web page at this point!!!!!.....

I contacted Rob (Lumb Bros) who informed me that the handle had only been removed from the umbilical package and not the hand held package.

The product i purchaed was advertised as a hand held package including an umbilical lead, NOT an Umbilical package!!!! The umbilcal package is seperate and listed as umbilacal priced at £370.00 . I paid £345.00 for a hand held torch with Umbilical lead as per catalouge.

I then re-contacted DeepBlue to explain this and as Rob had mentioned ealier on in the thread I was infact entitled to a Handle as i purchased a hand held torch package.

Deepblue still refused to provide me with the handle, hence the thread contiuing. Then the clever amongst you all may realise that the website has change.

Again in contact with DeepBlue they asked me to show them the product i ordered from the web. When we both clicked on the website simutainiously i was unable to find the package that matched my description. They had infact changed the website - assumingly to rectify the handle situation. I told them that the web page had changed which they denied... The package i ordered was no longer available. However a similar package was; this was more expensive and has had the umbilical removed from the desription. MISTAKE here i think!

Ok deep blue have obviosuly realised there was a problem with the advert and overnight changed it hastely. However - denied it when i questioned them.

Apparently the package should have never included an umbilcail and this had been a type error on the web, but i as a customer never knew this and only expected what was advertised.

Anyway i have now returned my head and await the one descripted and a handle.

hence the issue has still not been resolved yet as i have not recieve either. I am expecting them to come Mon/Tuesday... Then i will have recieved all advertised albeit wrongly.. I susspect anyone else wanting the package will not recieve it, as they have and reserve the right to change the products and prices at their will.

Sorry for the long post....I hope everyone can now see where i feel i was missled
    ..... IN MY Opinion
    Russ

    An update:

My torch arrived yesterday. With handle !! Hurray !!

Without umbilical ! Not quite so hurray.

Spoke to Deep Blue this morning (to a very friendly and helpful lady called Holly) who explained that there had been a number of problems with the catalogue. She said she didn't want to have an unhappy customer and would try to get this sorted with the sales manager when he comes in.

    Fingers crossed

    John

    Oh dear !

Deep Blue have just phoned and the sales manager won't agree to let me have an umbilical. Unfortunately he's not in today so I'll have to wait 'til tomorrow to speak to him direct. I pointed out that accepting my order for the described goods at the described price constitutes a legal contract. It should be even more cut and dried in my case because the word "umbilical" is (or was) there in black and white. Fortunately I've kept a downloaded copy of the relevant web page as it was when I placed the order, so they can't deny its been changed and, of course, it's in the print catalogue.

    John,
