New light required...

Right then, the salvos gone down the crapper after two and a half years of reliable service. I'm going to send it back to them in Florida so they can have a look see. I have decided however in the meantime that what I need from a light has changed now I'm on the RB. What I'm after from a light...

• Robust
• 3-4hr burn time
• umbilica
• Goodman Handle
• Beam good enough to signal

I have pretty much ruled out Salvo as the UK service has pretty much fizzled out, I know there are a few more manufacturers out there now and I'm open to LED or even a Holycon (£££), basically if you have something that fits the bill tell me about it as I'll be needing to buy something pretty soon.

If you're sure of the move though; I reckon you've a choice of Halcyon, Halcyon or Halcyon.

I've seen GreenForce and Metalsub in the flesh. Personally, they're not for me.

No, but I have seen this lot a few times. A little bit of this 'n that plus this lightshow is very illuminating.

Dive Rite. Best torch I've owned since AUL closed down. Titchy little cannister 2-3hr burn, 10W HID (same bulb as Halcyon and UK Light Cannons so easy to get hold of) and very robust (all aluminium case). You can even remove the umbilical and make it into a handheld backup about the size of a Scout.
