    Which torch?

Looking to buy a torch. Can't afford an umbilical at the moment. So looking for a torch that can be mounted to harness shoulder D ring.
My diving is to max 35m at the moment. Ideally torch would be acceptable to use in this range and trips overseas. Budget ideally £100 - £130.
The Tektite Expedition LS5 looks a good torch and has some good reviews. The spec of 5W LED and 200 lumens sounds impressive for the price.
Are there any other torches worth considering?
How suitable would the above torch be for use as a backup if I progress to an umbilical primary? I've read a bit about different beam charecteristic of torches ie. tight beam for signalling, but not sure on differences between back-up type torches.
    Any advice welcome.

I've got one. It's ace. Lots of people in the club use them as a primary. I use mine as a backup to my 21W HID umbilical. When the umbilical has run out of juice, I switch the Tektite on and immediately wonder why anyone would buy a 21W £800 HID.

Take the crappy rubber cover off and wind some black tape round it. Tie a boltsnap to the other end and that's it, good to go. When using mine, I clip the boltsnap off to the Quantum bungee mount so I can let it go if I have to do something with that hand.

I've got one too - like Woz says, it is fantastic. Well worth the cash.

Just used mine for a week in Scapa - I was the only one without an umbilical.

I have to say it was all I needed (It was as good as some of the umbilicals being used!).

Even at the bottom of the Markgraf it did a good job. I'm happy with mine as a primary torch.

(As Woz says the rubber bit on the front does come off easily)
