Unhappy why?

why oh why do we keep having threads like this....

Can we all agree each to their own. I'm not now nor will I ever be DIR but I applaud the DIR/GUE mantra of skills, skills and more skills. The DIR divers that I have dived with were neither elitest or arrogant, they were just bloody good divers who aspire to better divers.

I can understand why our DIR boys and girls get a little miffed by all of the debates surrounding GUE that happen mainly in their own section of the baords. If we had a PADI forum and the BSAC crowd kept popping in and telling them how wrong PADI has got it we might react differently, but it seems to me that some of us think it's reasonable to question GUE/DIR practices within the DIR section.

Vigorous debate is the sign of a healthy forum and input from all sides is important, but when we are debating the finner points of diving we will have different points of view.

I've climbed down off my soapbox now....

John
