| Imported post What is the CMAS star rating for your current level? |
| ||||
| Imported post Dunno. International Megastar probably. I honestly couldn't tell you. Peter |

| Imported post Peter (note no longer using Pete), this might help, failing that why not get in touch with Bsac direct through Bsac.org website http://www.bsac.org/techserv/salt1.htm Matt (Edited by MATTBIN at 8:14 pm on Feb. 16, 2003) |

| Imported post What is your current certification? |
| ||||
| Imported post No such thing as far as I can see, you must be a master diver, that is a two star, when you pass your next higher cert you will be a three star, it seems clear to me. I did not realise that BSAC had such an inflated opinion of their certifications, it is funny to see what they think is equivalent to their Dive leader cert. It also shows that they have not read up on the certifications that they have then made a crossover cert for, from memory a NAUI advanced SCUBA diver is a 'second level' cert, and rescue training is carried out at all levels of NAUI training, but only given Ocean diver crossover status, while a NAUI Rescue diver that can be done after certification as a SCUBA diver, and is a speciality that includes diving only to facilitate the rescue diving, is crossed over as Sport diver, it begs the question who drew these up. |

| Imported post The somewhere in between comes from looking at it as CMAS 2 star is a sport diver, then there is no mention of CMAS in the dive leader bit and CMAS 3star is in the advanced diver bit. So as BSAC goes I'm in between CMAS two star and three star. But I'm not CMAS anyway, I was only looking for the SSAC-BSAC crossover thingumy-jig. |

| Imported post Thats because a dive leader is a CMAS two star |

Just as an off topic point. SSAC's next cert is a first class diver which out of a membership of about 3500 there is only about a dozen of, if even that many. For years there was a cock-up in the structure of passing it and no-one noticed and for this reason no-one passed. I'll chase the reason up on A.N.Other forum. Peter |
