Question BSAC Dive Leader training
Can anyone offer suggestions or help me out?

I have completed my Dive Leader Theory and passed the test. But I am struggling to get my clubs instructor to do the practicals (it is a very small club).

I generally limit my diving to 35m so don't want the cert for depth, I did the course to make me a better diver.

I am also PADI Rescue, BSAC nitrox. I did the BSAC IFC in February and would like to go down the instructor route within BSAC.

I could simply abandon the training, and dive with YD people, but I am one of life closers, I like to finish things.

Could somone on YD find the time to do the practicals with me at say Gildy, Dosthill, one weekend.

Should I seek out another BSAC club? This might mean losing some friends.

Thoughts and opinions welcomed

Same here, but in the North.

If you are any trips with me I will give you a hand doing the practicals, DL ones can easily be incorperated into a dive.

I have a boat booked for Plymouth on the above date. However the boat is currently full. There may be some fallout. In which case if you are looking for some dives and help me do the practicals then maybe something can be arranged.

I'd be happy to help, but unfortunately my summer diving plans are looking pretty full. However I do have a useful suggestion: Have you tried contacting your regional / area coach? If it's a lack of instructor at your branch then you wont' offend people if you're up-front and careful and the region should be quite happy to help, especially if you want to become and OWI. They're there to help.
