Smile BSAC Advanced Diver

Hi, last year I crossed over from PADI to BSAC and joined a club. I was hoping to contue my training with the bSAC, as the Advanced Diver course looks interesting. However, the club only does this training once in a blue moon.

If I was to join the BSAC General Branch, how would I go about getting this course done, would I have to go to a BSAC School to do it, or is it possible to tag along with a club which is doing the course?

Any info much appreciated.

Talk to the regional coaches. They should be able to help if the club is not forthcoming with the training.

Most branches don't have enough people at that level to warrant doing all the training in-house. Its a lot of time for just one or two people. I did all the theory for AD last November in the West Mids region (which Cov is part of) and I think they run it every year. Not much help if you want to do it now, but if you get all the qualifying dives out of the way over this summer, do the lectures and stuff in November, then you'll be well on your way.

Its a crap, very out of date website, but look at http://www.bsacwestmidlands.org/training.html and get in touch with the SDCO (contact details should be there) and see whats going on this year (I think that list on the website is from last year...).

Alternatively, you might be able to get an instructor from your branch to just do the lessons whenever they have a spare hour or two - far easier to organise it like that than trying to make a big complicated schedule when there's only one or two people doing it!

cheers.

I got in touch with the regional coach, to see if he has anything planned this year.
