Well, since it was me that said the "silly thing", I can only repeat that my pony IS MY BAIL-OUT. If you dive with me, I expect you to have your own. Of course I would donate air if you were out of air and I wasn't, but in the unlikely event of our both having lost our primary air source and you having no bail-out, then I'm afraid you'd be on your own. I'd use my pony to save ME. You may think that's "silly" but I think it's perfectly reasonable. If I were required to be willing to sacrifice my life for my buddy, I'd have no choice but to dive solo.

Mark, tell me how you do this???

If your buddy suddenly loses all his air, and you lose half of yours......youc an't find your way to stage bottles etc

C'mon!  Really, you have enough in *some* circumstances.  These might be the most likely circumstances but that is what John is planning for too.  You can never, ever, say that you will always have enough gas for both of you and if you do think that then I think you are probably fooling yourself a bit.

John, and I, have enough gas, between us and our buddies (team) for most circumstances.  part of *our* gas planning is that our buddies carry redundancy.  We also carry redundancy.  The only time we would not have enough air, between us, for both of us to ascend is if we lost 3 rigs out of 4.

<font color='#333399'>Hi Mark
You been blown out on a diving trip and going to spend the day winding up divers again?
Get real the majority are against you why not accept it.
You’ve made your point and we all accept that is your opinion
And you will not be swayed from it.
Cheers
Bob

Mark, I wasn't be facetious, merely asking you to validate your point and I'm sorry but &quot;do the maths yourself&quot; is not a reasonable answer, and it is quite offensive.

I truly cannot see how you think you will *ALWAYS* have enough gas, whatever the circumstance. &nbsp;I am willing to be educated but you can't be bothered to provide the answer?

Maybe it's another secret?

Lou

<font color='#000080'>Surely the only way to guarentee that you have enough spare air for you and your buddy is if BOTH of you double up on everything?

Are you really going to be carrying 2 x twinsets (i.e 4 cylinders) &nbsp;and 2 x ponies EACH on a 40 m dive?

I had a good dive last evening and I'm in a good mood today, so I'm not going to take offence at anything or be drawn into long arguments about the merits and drawbacks of the way I dive or the kit I use. If my health remains as good as it is today, I MAY be able to go on diving for another 5-10 years. I'll just go on enjoying it the way I do now. I believe I'm a safe diver but if I'm wrong, I can think of worse ways of dying than while diving. Have a nice day all!

<font color='#333399'>So I take it, that means if you are diving a threesome good planning means you have got to take enough air to get all three of you out of trouble, if the worst scenario happens?
i.e. your two mates have insufficient air to get back to the surface.
Why stop there if there are a few more divers in the area take an extra bottle for them as well.
If that’s the case glad I dive solo.
Only got my self to look after.
Cheers
Bob.

Ps. He’s got us going already and it’s only 9:22
