<font color='#0000FF'>As I said before I am diving with Peter Gibson next week who is a very experienced skipper as well I think ex RNLI. &nbsp;I think the problem with St Abbs is mainly the hoards of divers who go there and shore dive from the harbour wall. &nbsp;They kit up scamble down the rocks and jump in only to find the tide has turned and they can't get out. &nbsp;I have seen and heard about lots of people who have had problems. &nbsp;

I have not been to St Abbs for a couple of years and have only shore dived in the early stages of my diving experience over one weekend. &nbsp;I was with my club and we have experienced divers with us but as we all know when you have only just started you do what everyone else does. &nbsp;I have to say I would never shore dive from the harbour wall again. &nbsp;

I'll stick to an experienced skipper with LOCAL knowledge from now on at least in St Abbs.

&nbsp; I am a very happy bod who has only two days of work and then I can go diving again.

Ah, now I understand! Thanks Fiona! &nbsp;
I'm an even happier bod – retired last Friday, am as fit as a fiddle (touch wood) and can dive whenever I like from now on, weather permitting, which it nearly always does here on the west coast of Sweden, thanks to all the islands, which provide plenty of sheltered sites.

Have you ever considered adopting a 45 year old?

Thanks Lou! Well, my mum is 94 and still going, if not strong. My dad died at the age of 72, though. Not sure what that means in terms of heredity.
So far, retirement has been a real slog – I've cut down and sawn up 12 trees. And I've still got the house to paint, the hedge to trim, several borders to weed etc etc. I doubt if I'll be able to sit down and read all those back numbers of Diver, Dive etc before winter.

Oh break out the violins shall we John?! &nbsp;
What I wouldn't give to be able to afford to ditch work and dive every day! &nbsp; &nbsp;Me and 1000s of other's on here I expect!
35 years and counting... &nbsp;

Now put that computer to bed and get in the water! &nbsp;

Dave.

OK John, take as much time as you need to think it over.

Happy diving retirement.

I thought you were intelligent John, 2 things are obvious, she knackered him out, not unusual &nbsp; &nbsp;and if you want to live longer, get a sex change done quick. &nbsp;

OK, no to 45 yr old how about a couple of kids, one diver (male) and one non-diver (female)? Might even throw in the house keeper (for God's sake dont tell her about this!)

Dive long and proper, wasnt that from Star Trek, oh no that was live long and prosper - near enough for me.

Matt

I think the family had better stay with you, Matt, thanks all the same. Any money I have over from my pension after supporting myself, Yvonne and the dog is going to be needed for dive trips Many thanks for your good wishes.
