Hi Steve, did some of them last year - they're great but the vis was poo cos the May bloom never cleared properly. Our skip Steve Channel Diving plied a froggy fisherman in Fecamp with booze and got a load of unknown marks, all of which look promising. Seems the Frenchies aren't all that keen on diving the Channel, so most of the wrecks over there are all but virgin cos it's just a few of us daft Rosbifs that dive them! He's got a few long weekend trips booked with various clubs this year, so it might be worth getting in touch and tagging on as a make-up-the-numbers-diver..
Thoroughly recommended.
My ambition for this year is to get a decent-vis dive on the Lanfranc (mid-channel & huuuge)

Well I only learnt to dive recently (August 03) but my ambition to dive the red Sea on my next holiday and more so recently to dive the Thistlegorm during the day and at night !
Luckily for me someone at the dive club cancelled their red Sea trip and I took their place, so my ambition will be fulfilled end of January !
And I'm wetting my pants with excitement

The Andrea Doria just to get me some "China Fever", then Naarvik, Normandy, Chuuk and Bikini. Anywhere with big bits of rusty metal really! Not too bothered about going to anything deep or looking at slimey fish.

Oh, and I will get to Bo Fascadale this year or I'm giving it all up as a lost cause.

I am hoping for a good enough weather window to get out to the Labrador again by RIB this year, It is only a 52mile run out!

You don't fancy spending a day looking for Silver on the Otranto. I've been told that once the storms have settled they tend to expose the plates "sometimes".

2004....really good to read what everyone plans...it's given me some ideas...especially the Malta/Gozo holiday.

BUT...my intentions are:

1. Complete Dive Master.

2. Break the 300 barrier (32 dives away).

3. More OHE dives (caverns and caves...not a wreck fan so much).

4. Advanced Nitrox (not bothered about Nitrox diving really but...see point 5).

5. Try a rebreather (for which you need ad ni...is that right?).

6. Get my own twin set...after borrowing for many months...

7. More UK dives..as an expat I need to get home more and meet some more YDivers.

Regards to all...

Graham

Plans for 2004 and ultimate ambitions.

Well for 2004 I would really like to do the Loanda in (28m I think) with Paul Oliver. I have been trying to get on this wreck for two years and I seem to always miss the opportunity. The first ever dive gig I arranged was on the Loadna with Paul and obviously it was blown out. Not by the weather but by lack of support from my club.

Must do wrecks are the Mexico and the Bessel. Again I was blown out last year so I really want to have a look. I also want to get Andrew on the Solsett.

I am not into training courses much they have always been a means to an end but I hope to do a proper wreck penetration course with Izzi and of course do the CCR course.

Long-term ambitions are a different matter. I would love to dive the Lucitainia but at 90+m deep I probably need another season of T-mix before I can make the most of the diving. I would Looooooooooovvvvvvve to dive the Andrea Dora just because of the book. It amazing to think this cutting edge dive in 70m is now within my reach. I would also very much like to do the Zenobia before it starts to break up.

I am not averse to fish prodding and I would like to dive with Mantas and Hammerheads and I rather fancy the Sardine run. Andrew has unfinished business at Dahab so we might end up back there next Christmas but I might just be Egypt out. We do Brothers in April and that only leaves a couple of shipwrecks and Thomas Canyon on my Egypt hit list.

Then there is Scupper Flow, Truck, and Bikini

Actually the list is endless that’s one of the great things about this sport there is always another challenge or adventure around the corner.

ATB

Not knocking the spelling Mark, I just thought it wonderfully appropriate
