Dave
that's a fair point and I was a member of a Bsac club for over a year, I received no training at all. I'm not saying all Bsac clubs are like that, but mine was. It was a fault on both sides.
Lots of people are on here because they were trained via Padi and as such are clubless, but competent divers in most respects but not in the sense of RD. I could just shut up, continue to dive competently myself and not worry that I wont be able to help next time, I suspect a few others may feel the same but remain clubless and comitted to other cash purchases for essential kit. I might be wrong, the poll might show the way forward, not only for me but others too.

Paul, thanks again for stepping forward to help out, perhaps if the poll shows a need we can sort something.

Matt

<font color='#0000FF'>I too am hopefully booked up for my RD, but would jump at the chance to practice the skills with anyone willing to teach at a YD meet.

If it makes you a prepared diver, then it makes you a better buddy!

Taught Rescue from first qualification.
Ahhh but could you do it when the smelly stuff splats the fan
I too was taught rescue from day 1 (SSAC) but do practise regularly and have unfortunatly had to do it for real. It's like very drill in diving the more you practise, when and hopefully never, the time comes it all kicks in.

<font color='#FF0000'>I've been away all weekend doing Trimix and just been reading about Stoney. I am a PADI instructor, done a course for one of the YDers already, not rescue (sent another EANx video today Rick). I would be more than willing to do the Rescue Courses for those who fancy it. The more the merrier, up to limits, conditions etc or lots of you over several weekends. I live near the NDC and although not the sea relatively safe for training but I am willing to negotiate regarding one day's location of the training. I can also do the EFR and DAN O2 Adminstration if you want it. The cost is always the thorny issue &nbsp;- bottom line, as long as me, my DM's (2) are not out of pocket- gas, entry, lunch, petrol, PIC's etc everything else can be discussed, not looking to make a load of cash.

If someone wants to organise a group gig, please feel free to e-mail me at paul@phoenixmr.com

If you get something set up and you need help, &quot;victims&quot;, etc just shout. &nbsp;C and I would be more than willing to lend a hand. &nbsp;I found the Padi RD course excellent, and the stress that was induced during the final big scenario was far higher than I expected from a mock-up situation. &nbsp; It was well worth doing and anything I can do to help create that kind of atmosphere would be done with pleasure.

Lou

<font color='#0000FF'>Nice one Paul, thanks.
I'll drop you a line when I get back, but confirm that I want to do it ASAP.

<font color='#736AFF'>I am PADI RD and happy to assist

If I can fit the time in I am doing the BSAC Practical Rescue Management, and a first aid top up, next month.

Practise practise practise.

Having carried out a rescue last summer, I put a lot more thought into the rescue (all sorted happily) prior to doing anything.

I found the RD course emotionally quite draining, but a real must for divers.
