| Imported post Nice one! I personally don't subscribe to the argument, I was just making smalltalk but i guess he only has to hear the word 'padi' to set him off |

Either way that was just ignorance on his part, best ignored in my book. FB |

As far as I'm concerened anyone who judges another on the strength of their training acency's mertits fails to understand the basic point of diving; that skills come down to whats is imparted by an instrcutor and what is mastered by the student.

| Imported post Personally, I've seen both crap and good PADI divers, likewise BSAC, SAA etc. I think it comes down to two points:- 1. If you have a good instructor, that will makes the world of difference; 2. If you have the ability and inclination to dive, the agency you train with can be an irrelevance. Nick

| Imported post Well, I started with Liverpool Uni BSAC club way back in '82. When we weren't out stealing wheels off Ford Escorts we went out diving to such glamerous spots as Holyhead Harbour and Ullswater. The diving got better as we moved onto Dotty and Treardur Bay.......but not as nice as out here. When I started I don't think many people in the UK had heard of PADI so it wasn't an option.
