The course is aimed at any level of technical diver as the course will be run using the equipment for the highest level of tech certification that thr candidate has. So for you we would do the whole course using two stages. The overview for the course is; The technical rescue diver course is designed to develop the knowledge and necessary skills for an individual to effectively perform diver rescues for technical dives involving stage decompression, multiple breathing mixtures and rich Nitrox mixes. The course also covers accident management for technical diving incidents. The course also covers rescue skills required for support divers involved in technical diving projects as well as for rescue divers supporting technical training courses. Candidates will learn to; 1. Identify problems and situations which may result in a rescue situation. Demonstrate the ability to evaluate and mitigate relevant risks. 2. Demonstrate an ability to perform self rescue. 3. Assist a diver during an emergency situation. 4. Lift an unconscious diver to the surface from approximately 21 (21) msw / sixty six (66) fsw. 5. Upon surfacing, transport the unconscious diver fifty (50) meter / one hundred and fifty (150) feet to shore or boat. 6. Once reaching the shore or boat, with the assistance of one (1) aid, removing the diver from the water. 7. Ability to manage a technical diving rescue and evacuation. The in water skills will include; 1. Demonstrate buoyancy control (ability to hover at fixed position in water column without moving hands or feet) 2. Show good awareness of buddy and other team members through communications, proximity and team oriented dive practices 3. Demonstrate ability to confirm gas switches at depth with buddy/team members 4. Swap decompression cylinder from one diver to another whilst maintaining decompression stop 5. Deploy Out Of Gas marker buoy 6. Deploy DSMB/lift bag while breathing from buddy’s long hose 7. Demonstrate controlled ascent while breathing from buddy’s long hose. Ascent to include at least three stops with a gas switch to stage bottle at the last stop. 8. Demonstrate controlled ascent with one member of the team without a mask, ascent to include at least two stops and a gas switch 9. Demonstrate controlled ascent with a diver simulating vestibular DCS including at least two stops and a gas switch 10. Demonstrate controlled ascent with a simulated toxing diver including at least two stops and a gas switch 11. Surface tow of fully kitted diver for 50m and gear removal in water too deep to stand
