Recommendations for training in Dorset?

Hello,

My wife and I passed our OW about 18 months ago, but didnt have the best experiance due to the comapny we used.

Anyway, we now have 50 odd dives under our belt and want to do AOW with Nitrox, but dont know where to go. The company we used have gone bust and I wouldnt use them again if you paid me.

We are in Dorset on the coast, and just want a friendly, proffessional outfit that will lead us into a bit more diving with likeminded others - at the moment, we just tend to do our own thing.

Thanks in advance.

Adam

Hi Adam

I've used Mike Potts before: Diving lessons Swanage Pier Dorset UK

Nice guy and based on Swanage Pier so easy access to the wet stuff ( bimbles round the pier and the boats ).

Another alternative would be to join a local BSAC club. I found my diving increased massively after I joined BSAC as the Rhib goes out every weekend. If you are interested, PM me and I'll give you some details.

Good Luck.

Dave

Hi pm me with your email and I will go through with the companies in the area.
Thanks

As Dave has put in the above post you have Mike at the pier here in Swanage.
It depends on where in dorset you are?, Poole direction you have Dorset Divinig services.
Weymouth way you have fathom and blues in portland.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies, we are in Ringwood, but are happy to travel, so anywhere between Southampton to Portland would be fine.

I've had good expereince with Fathom and Blues in Portland as well as Underwater Explorers, also in Portland.

YD's own purple vonny is also an instructor at The Old Harbour Dive Shop in Weymouth - but I think she is in the Red Sea at the moment.

Adam, have you considered joining a club?

That way you will have plenty of people to go diving with and get your training virtually free.

There is a BSAC branch in Ringwood and a number of BSAC & SAA clubs in Bmth & Poole.

Stunned by the replies!! What options.... clubs, training centres and one to ones, plus a heap of PM's.

A club does appeal, but not too sure if we could put in the effort to do it justice...?

I'll get phoning around.

Many thanks
