I normally dive solo and have with me

Wing/drysuit
2 12ltr tanks
2 reels
2 smbs
2 cutting tools
2 masks
1 comp, 1 d-timer and table for what ever gas mix I am using
1 HID, 1 pocket size torch, 1 mini torch

So far to date I have never needed to carry anything else or needed a buddy to get me out of trouble, I am hoping it stays that way.

Mine will be a bit odd.. nowt new there.

Gas; Off board bailouts down to about 70m, then team based bailout
Oxygen displays; 3 fully independent systems
Bouyancy; Wing/Suit
Lights; 2 harness lights
DTimers; 2 (I use a cochran commander and a dtimer)
Tables; One set written down with options.. + my brain
SMB's; 2 primary, one yellow
Cutting tools; 1 harness knife, 1 whizzy scubapro line slasher (they're great!)

I dont bother backing up the mask for ocean diving, only for caving. (for ocean stuff, I just use the air bubble trick).

And of course the most important bit.... a spare goody bag

<edit> the harness lights are to backup the can....

Mind you I remember the suit with the three auto dumps on with much affection

Did you ever get it back off of George?

The bubble trick is, I assume, where you cup your hand over your eye and trap a bubble in it, allowing you to see with no mask..

Well it took some time(about 6 months) but I did in the end get back but not quite in the the same condition as I lend it to him in. He shouldn't be allow anywhere near dive kit, for such a great diver he has no idea how to treat dive gear. Its the last piece of kit I will ever lend to the fella thats for sure. Sold it to Bryan in the end and its still going strong. It was only 2 auto dumps though not 3. 3 would just be silly and over kill

Never heard of that before. Isn't that a bit tricky plus you lose the use of one of your hands. Wouldn't it be easier to just carry a spare mask?
I Will have to give it a go...not just yet though, I think maybe I will wait for the sea to warm up a bit. A task to give a go in the summer months me thinks

OK

That sounds like something to try in the pool this week, could liven the evening up.

The trouble is as a DO if i cock something up like that everyone, and i mean EVERYONE will see it, note it and bring it up on every dive for the next couple of years.

But then again that adds to the challenge.

Dive Safe
