| overhead environment diver rescue skills training day at the Rez, staffordshire rugeley technical SAA 907 are hosting a rescue skills day at the REZ near stoke on trent, staffordshire. sat 18th aug starting about 10.30am all are welcome to attend to try the experience and give us some more feed back. most diver rescue courses are taught in open water with not much emphesis on overhead environments. some dive incidents are related to missing divers inside wrecks so we felt we should have a play and feed back any information to the agencies etc. so we decided it would be fun to play with a full size manikin called 'dotty' she has her own full dive kit and acts a real unconsious diver! so for those of you who dont know the rez its a disused underground resevoir only 2m deep with 1/2m air space, 40m x 20m, water temp can be a bit cool but the viz is great, however you do need to be experienced or at least closely supervised if under training as this is a lights out environment. great for night dive training! check out index anyone is welcome to join us but please contact me first as i'll be expecting a good turnout. Rick stanton (mr top cave diver!) will be joining us to share his experiences and help out on the day. entrance costs are £12.50 and please bring your qualifications. the more that turn up the more experience we can gain and the more we can share with all the diving community. please contact me asap and i know its short notice but sometimes we need to take these opportunities! regards sally cartwright SAA Chairperson/diving officer RTD SAA 907 tel 07811259 772 salrtd18@aol.com |
