| Does BSAC have to recognise it ? maybe for club insurance or something. I did the IANTD one a long time ago. I suspect BSAC courses are just a copy of some of the others. |

| Check with BSAC HQ, they should be able to tell you straight away. I think BSAC are pretty reasonable when it comes to recognising training by other bodies, which is just as well as it takes them a long time to catch up with developments in diving |
| ||||
| Let us know how you get on with HQ as I would be interested in that too... Di

| It shouldn't be a problem. The majority of the blenders in my branch have the TDI one. There was no BSAC version at all at the time. Adrian

| Why worry about BSAC accepting it? Its a simple qual to do a couple of simple tasks for your branch. We have no-one and never have had anyone with a BSAC Qual to do either and have been blending and pumping bottles for years You could learn everything you need in about a 30 min session anyway

| Hi all BSAC do recognise most of the other technical agency Nitrox Blending courses. I don't thing there is a recognised course for PADI, IART & GUE. It may be that these agencies don't have a blending course. The new BSAC blending course is specificaly targeted at Partial Pressure Blending, rather than Membrane & self mixing systems. This is because in 90% of cases this is how blending is done in branches. There are three course variations available, Nitrox, Mixed Gas & Combined (Nitrox & Mixed Gas). Gareth

I then sat in on Mark Powells TDI Trimix Blenders course which was a much better course But imo Gas Blending course are OK - but the only way to really learn is to work in a gas shed |
