All the information I can find says 40m. Interesting though as I didn't realise it gave me any increased depth limit over my BSAC SD qualification - I was quite happy being 'naughty'. It doesn't actually give the depth limit on the card unlike the DP (doing that with MP in 2 weeks) which specifies 45m.

I don't generally worry too much about qualifications, certainly I am not bothering with BSAC any more. I have dived with BSAC 'Advanced' Divers who have done the time and some of them really are rubbish. I dive with a couple of BSAC 3rd class divers who have been doing it for 40 odd years and their hard earned skill and knowledge would knock most divers with a string of cards into a cocked hat.

    Hi Robin

The TDI Advanced Nitrox Certification Qualifies you to use up to 100% Oxygen for decompression (but not accelerated decompression) up to a maximum depth of 40 metres, not 45 metres. The decompression procedures certificates then allows you to use those same gases for accelerated decompression up to a maximum depth of 45 metres. The two courses dovetail so obviously that many instructors teach them as a combined course.

I hope that clarifies things for you

    Regards

    Gareth

    Hi Robin

    Likewise for clarity

The IANTD Advanced Nitrox course qualifies divers to use upto 100% Oxygen for accelerated decompression to a maximum depth of 42m. Decompression practices and procedures are included as part of the syllabus for this course

    Kind regards

    Ian

I know at least one diver that has no qualifications to his name but has dived deeper than I'd ever want.

Anyway, IIRC my IANTD trimix card doesn't have depth limits on it as it was done before ambulance chasers controlled everything. My rebreather cert (acquired after a 20min pool dive on a Cis Lunar) is unrestricted. I wonder how they stand today with the revised structures, half a dozen different mix courses available and Mod whatever.

My F.R.E.E. cert was (I think) 40m... on one breath...

Incidentally for the BSAC quals it is worth noting that the 50m depth limit for DL+ is likely to be revised shallower (40 metres, I believe) reasonably soon. Apparently due to insurance reasons.

Fundies, Rebreather and Cave1-3 I don't think have a certification depth as that would come from other qualifications (like tech1). Cave1-3 do have penetration limits instead though
