Brighton again, this time the Duke

Juz and l were joined by John 'JPTaylor9' and Simon "Padawan' yesterday to dive the Duke of Buccleugh and what an awesome wreck it turned out to be.
It's about 2 hrs out and in an almost flat sea was very comfortable journey.
Juz and I buddied, me trying out the twin 15s l bought off Andy P, Juz doing his last OC dive before doing the box course next week.
We reached the wreck at about 50 mtrs, almost on top of one of the holds full of chinaware and l noticed a conger eel, then another and another the wreck was infested with them. We dropped over the side and headed for what turned out to be the stern, which was handy because l wanted to see the prop, Chasey had recommended that we view this.

The stern with the intact prop half buried and the rudder were superb, it was at this point whilst at 57 mtrs with a completely clear head that l realised how great helium is. The twin 15s I'd bought off Andy contained a 17/50 mix, suitable for a 70 mtr dive, but at 57 mtrs gave me an Equivalent narcotic depth of 19 mtrs.

We left the prop and headed up to the deck and a look at the chinaware in the holds and more conger eels, then on to the pointy bit and dropped over the side and found more congers wedged between the hull and the shingle seabed.
This wreck was covered in sea life, did l mention the congers, lobbies and other fish, the vis was a very respectable 8ish meters and it wasn't too dark.
Total bottom time 35mins, runtime 100mins, temp still a tropical 12 deg, however it was a bit cold once back on the boat and the sea on the way back was almost dead flat.
The next time the Skippers going to this wreck will be the 5th of March and l want to be on the boat.

After having such crap diving weather recently it has amazed me that in November we have been able to get out midweek for the last three weeks and this is my second weekend, next day planned is Tuesday 23rd, planned wreck The Porthkerry at 42mtrs then on Sunday the Nyon at 45 mtrs, 'da bitch' is not a happy bunny at the moment but hey ho, l'm happy.

Almost forgot, when the YBOD boys go on about gas costs, yawn, yawn, yawn, who do they turn to when their dil bottles need topping up???? The OC boys, Simon,l havenêt forgotten that the agreed price to decant approx 100bar of 17/10 was 50 squids,

And another point, someones going to have to stop the Kinky divers going on about 'the bl**dy south bl**dy china bl**dy seas'
