| This was another one of 'Howie's Hero’s' dives, well we joined in with a boat chock full of RB divers! (Well 5 RB & 5 O/C) After our 40m drift dive last Tuesday we signed up with Steve and Nauticat again to dive the Nyon She sank in June 1962 (even older than me!) lies on her port side at 43m and is well broken up. Nyon Howie & I dropped in as the second pair, onto the wreck very close to the bow, we headed off west and on rounding the bow hit the current so turned back to drift back over the wreck. Our plan was to dive together, but if we got separated, just dive the plan & we'd meet up on the surface. I was diving tables as my VR3 is still at Delta P getting repaired. There is lots of life on this wreck, big crabs (still have to buy that big pan) and loads of pollock (hence all the nets!) Howie & I separated at about 17 mins but I was happy enough to pottle on and watch the RB divers in the deep dark holes! My time came to an end & I headed up, Deep Sea Dave one of the RB divers gave me a friendly wave as I headed up! Viz was about 6-7m and I could see other divers all leaving the wreck and coming back up. Round about my 21m stop a yellow line comes into view and I do my best to get away from it! Some interesting dance moves that entertained my fellow deco buddies! Why is it that when everything is going perfectly, you are floating along in perfect position there is never anyone there to see you; the time you start doing ballet and look like a muppet the water is full of techie divers? My stage reg decided to leak when I turned on the 70% but not enough for me to worry & stay on my back gas! I did try to tighten it, but that wasn't happening underwater I discovered that the yellow line was Howies and we were inextricably linked via SMB's! :o Howie was playing with his drop tank, so it was quite a surprise to see a 10L cylinder shoot past on the rope. It also surprised one of the other deco'ing divers who hovered close by until he worked out what was going on! I'll let Howie fill you in on his experiences with the drop tank, it was a photo opportunity moment that I missed as he looked like a puppet at one stage as there were reels & line everywhere! So back onto the bouncy boat, some lovely warm soup and then waited for the last pair to come onboard & we headed for home. I broke out the chocolate chip cookies (luxury ones!) and the usual treat sized bag so Howie was a happy bunny! No second dive today as it was cold, miserable & windy out there. But still a great day's diving, in winter! Blanaid

| Mr Jay, sir, changed it just for you, but had to stick to purple! I do remember my parents bathroom being purple & grey.....could that be why I'm addicted to the colour? Blanaid

So l send up the red blob from the wreck, get to 9 mtrs send the green blob up the red blob line, l should have said that my spare reel was attached to the end of the greenie, because next thing l see it my reel slowly unwinding, so l grab it. l look up and see my smb line tangled with Blanaids and l think bo**cks the skipper going to sling a 10 ltr tank down and it'll hit Blainaid, well it misses her, l grab it and clip it to my wing and imediately drop 3 mtrs, whoops, so now l've got twin 15s and two 10 ltr stages for the first time and my bouyancy control is 'interesting' this is the bit where Blanaid things l look like a puppet or did she mean muppet, l've got one smb line, one reel line and a line attached to the drop tank, soon up the lift l come, line all over the place tanks hanging off and no one batts an eyelid, l calmly sit down and act as if nothings wrong. It twas a larf. Now to tell 'da bitch' that l'm diving saturday as well, just for a change out of Brighton.
