Flights booked....

Spoke to BA regarding extra baggage allowance for diving equipment and the answer is a big fat NO.. gits... However, if I was taking Golf Clubs I could get 30kg...

Hi John,

I've travelled BA for 2 years now to Cyprus, never had a prob with baggage. I've always been around 30k and tell them it's diving kit - always been OK. It seems there's a telephone policy out of a book, and what the check-in bod feels like on the day. Cyprus Airways are OK - they can usually be talked into 10-12k over, but I was charged £12 per kilo excess last month....

So, I think a bit of sweet-talk on the day may work OK, depending on gender, of course....

See you in April!

Regards

I just booked my flight for £139 with Air Cyprus landing at about 4.00pm at LCA. Aparently you cant book excess baggage in advance so with the unit at 30Kg and a 40Kg alowance its going to be a bit tight

Any one else on the 9:45 out of Heathrow?

PS whats the water temperature out there in April? got to decide on wether or not to take a dry suit.

Hi Mark,

There's only a couple of load managers, Marios & Demetris. They were both really helpful, especially Demetris, who understood the problems of dive kit, and gave me a few kilos over. Worth a shot, otherwise leave the toothbrush behind...

Oh, yes, you'll need a drysuit, else it won't be too much fun at that time of the season! Temp about 18C'ish.

Regards,

Rob,

Just speaking to a friend and he's heading over to Cyprus in October this year (I'll point him in your direction). Quick question - what's the water temperature going to be then??

Thanks - Dave.
