Talking Finally!

Ok guys - finally got in the water today due to equipment problems.
Due to the weather being really bad down here in Plymouth at the moment we went to the quarry.
Kitting up went well, did diver callout and buddy checks. 12 Kilogram Weight with a 12 litre and a 3 litre pony.
Me and an instructor dropped down to a 6 Metre platform and practiced reg recovery, mask removal etc. By this time i was already having problems equalising so had to ascend and clear and then descend again - these problems were due to the hood as once i had stretched it and let some water in i could equalise OK - so im going to puncture some holes in for the next dive. My buoyancy was fairly bad - i seemed to have a lot of air migrating to my feet and the pony was nt helping - maybe next time ill try some ankle weights and also offset my weights on my belt to the opposite side of the pony. Had a slight leak from the valve on my drysuit but not much at all.

On the surface this dive was follwed by a slight nosebleed - I certainly know how to impress the girls!!!

220 Bar at start - 110 Bar at End
Total Dive time 29 Minutes
Max Depth 11.3 Metre
Average Temperature 7 Degrees
Viz - 1 - 4 Metres

Glad you got in the wet mate.
To balancs the pony bottle just thread a 2K weight to the cam band of your tank on the other side of the pony. Try using a little les weight over all, that way you will not have as much of the stuff in your suit going places where you don“t want it. Also ne try to hard to equalise, it is better to assend a bit, that should sort the nose bleed out.

Hope this helps

Michael
