Dorothea the return (II)

James (narked@50) and I went to Dorrie last bankholiday monday for a change to our normal haunts as we enjoyed it we decided another trip was on the cards
Today was that day!!!!!! get on with it hear you heckle. alrighty then!
we decided to take advantage of the available depth range at dorrie on the first dive and go for slightly deeper than last time we both dive twin twelves me being fairly new to mine so air wasnt a problem
First dive slow drop down to 51m i had recently had a bit of flu so had trouble equalising so just took our time at about 25m the problem cleared and down the wall we went, dorrie at depth is pretty eerie but with a starkness too. we then made our way slowly backup the wall at an angle very nice dive it was to got some smb practice back in at the end of the dive and out we came for a surface interval of 2 hours depth max 51m time 44mins
second dive slow swim over to bunkhouses and round the end of the promentary then up through the cave swimthrough turned right and followed the wall all the way round at about 8m back round to the concrete jetty on the way finding an interesting swim through. Depth max 26m time 38mins
a thoroughly enjoyable day with good company and a few ribald storys swapped in the surface interval with some divers from the wirral who where diving there today as well
you never know there may be a sequel Dorothea III THE WETTENING!!!! AT YOUR LOCAL DIVE SITE COMING SOON

Nice one

Great report, keep meaning to do Dorothea myself sometime.

Just out of interest, how much air did you have left after your first dive?

To dive or not to dive - that's not even an option.

A shed load.

We were both diving twin 12s with 220 bar to start, at the end of the first dive I had around 120 left and Paul around 110, by the end of dive two I was at 60 bar and Paul 40. Both dives were very placid with gentle decents and ascents and no issues what so ever, the vis was excellent, varying from about 8-10 meters and considering how deep we were diving, it was surprisingly light. We have been doing a few build up dives as we want to bottom out the Rondo in SOM next month and want to be sensible doing it.

James

no problems with any locals but there was another gang of divers there and when we got there it was drizzling so they probably stayed at home
