Dover Seabed - 17 / April

All divers turned up nice and early at Dover, the sun was out and warm, sea was flat.
The plan was to dive the UB 78 sub, but we couldn't get a profile on the sounder when over the marks, so we shot off by .4 of a mile to dive HMS Brazen.
There was little profile on the sounder, but did show up as metal. The shot was dropped and held in fast.

We had a mixed bunch of both YD'ers and local divers, 2 of which bought flasks and sarnie's ( which they won't again on the next TAURUS DIVE ), as they were delighted to hot drinks and bacon sarnies at no extra expense or hassle .
Anyway, the dive ended up being a seabed search for the wreck in a DIVERS REPORTED 8 mts of viz and no need for a torch at 30 mts , also one stated " I could see the sun when i was at 20 mts ".

Finding out they did a seabed dive really pissed me off,
HMS Brazen, site report
On the way back , we sat over the wreck of the Anglia to check my electronics, which were spot on & dropping a reel in , had 6 mts of viz after a hour after slack.so it wasn't my fault for mis shotting etc etc etc , but still cheesed to hell.
All divers were ing with a fist of bacon sarnie and a cup of coffee, though

So what happened then?

No matter how many sandwiches or cups of tea I got I would be pee-ed off to travel down and dive a seabed instead of a known mark and have to pay for it. You can get alot of tea for £15!!!

Still 8m of viz in Dover - they must have been dreaming!

Edit: wow, just read the report. So is it knackered from trawlers, or from someone trying to salvage it? Any idea of who the salvage bodgers may be? Must be local, surely???

One of my local divers had a dive which was TOTALY incident FREE, which to both me and him was a bonus.
One had a large skate, which was well over the price of the dive.
One enjoyed the dive, as he used his birthday prezzie, ( Dsmb and reel ) and needed some depth ready for his Mexican holiday need week
John Perrin wanted a bimble dive, as it was his first time in the sea here with his box.
Jason, did a seasearch dive / report.

Most are normally happy from a fu** up dive.

Its well charted and dived a lot, but subs can be a bugger to find somethimes. I expect Andy has dropped a few shots on it with his current system.

Maybe i'll confirm it over the next couple of weeks

Thats way to much error ............

Here at Dover we are right on the border for EGNOS, which is on about 90 % of the time. BUT WAAS is on all the time, but the 2 play hell together.
