| Just back for a weekend's diving in Plymouth with Diving Dragons and a few others (including Robert and Pippi on YD). Cheers guys (and gals) for a great weekend. Diving was off Seeker, and it was easy 25-30m stuff as it was the first sea dive of the season for some of the guys. The weather report was iffy as it had been gusting 5-6 on Friday, but Saturday was overcast, but not too windy. A bit of a swell left from Friday but it didn't stop us. First dive was to be the Scylla, but loads of boats were already there so we went off to the James Egan Layne. I've never dived it before - well broken in places but not others, a really good wreck with vis around 5-7 metres. Next was the Scylla - never dived her either. The current was running strong there but we had a good poke around, although the vis had probably dropped to around 4m after all the divers earlier and the strong current running. Sunday was ther Persia - well broken up wreck, the skipper put the shot in the right next the boiler as he said. It's a good wreck to have a rummage - loads of life and the vis was excellent, at least 8 metres. Last dive was a drift over some kelp beds near the Plymouth Sound breakwater. It was a big kelp forest with loads of nooks and crannies to have a look it. The best thing for me was the way the kelp swayed in the current -the vis was around 5 metres so you could see lots of them sways to and fro in unison. Overall, a great weekend. I don't get down to Plymouth very often and I can see how much extra life and the extra diversity you get the further west you go. The only problem is that it's about 230 miles from London and took me 5 1/2 to drive down on Friday Night. Oh, and just in case anyone mentions it - any suggestion that I jumped off the boat without my mask on the first dive is untrue... In true Jonathan Aitken style I'll be talking to task anyone who posts such slander about me

After getting to the dive site we found loads of boats on the Scylla so dived the JEL first, I was diving with Andy so as we had very sneakily placed our selves right next to the lift we were first off the boat yippy. Of we went, this is one giant step for man sorry wrong story again, off we went splash splash,(I think I prefer the first version) after a strange delay in getting to the shot where Aliens came down and removed Andy’s mask whilst he was in mid stride, and then, put it back on the boat, strange how no one on the boat saw this happen. Full report here Plymouth trip report Saturday I never saw nufing guv onest Nice trip report well done Andy Last edited by Kev Emery : 26-04-05 at 01:01 PM. |

| Nice report. Don't feel embarassed about the mask. We've all done it. Well actually that's not true. Most of us haven't. Janos
