.

A cracking trip with excellent company.

Many thanks to Helen for organising the trip and to Brian D for budding up with me, great dives.

Only hiccup for me was the twinge I got on ascent\deco, sore left shoulder which I did not notice prior to the second dive. Ohh! bollocks moment on ascent.. Completed all our stops and deco obligations and padded in time at 6 and 3 meters.

Neil (Clutha crew) noticed my discomfort when assisting up the ladder and enquired to the problem. Advised I had a bit of pain.
Neil assisted with dekitting and escorted me to the bridge where Elaine (the skipper) completed neuro and other tests. Passed all.
Put me on O2 and copious amounts of water and soup to see if the pain would go away, which it did not.
Emptied the 3l O2 and completed a few more tests, passed okay.

Felt like a right numpty sitting on the kitting up bench sucking the O2.

Met at dock side by Drew (hyperbaric medic) who went through my dive profiles and completed more tests. Passed all again and we agreed to a muscle pull but advised to seek medical assistance if any problems occurred.

My most sincere thanks to the crew of The Clutha - Elaine, Neill and also Drew. Excellent crew with and outstanding dive boat and more importantly customer service and diver safety - First class.

Ohh aye and the diving was excellent also.

Four dives on 4 nice wrecks: Beagle, Akka, Kintyre and Wallachia.

A pleaseure meeing and putting faces to YD'ers hope we can all meet up again and dive together soon.

Best Regards to all.

Gary.

Many thanks, Helen... superb trip!!!

And to James for loaning me a mask so that I could see just how bad the vis was.

And in my defence... actually, no... guilty on all counts. Hairy... yep. Leave disasters in my wake... yep. Pissed off spider crab... yep. Completely incapable of reading a computer... yep. I was bloooooody well relieved that I didn't take my O2 bottle for the deco stop... 21m... oops... It did seem very dark for 6m

Hope you're feeling better, Gary.

When can we go again????

Very nice fish supper from Macari's in Wemyss Bay on the way back.

Thanks Stuart, I am feeling fine now, looking forward to the next trip.

I think the necklace was a genetic experiment to see if the mould\fungus would produce a breathable gas at depth

Cya all soon.

Gary.

Clyde survived!

Just want to add my thanks to Helen for organising the weekend, I had a blast and I think it is safe to say that Jen(none YD) enjoyed her self to. Managed to get up to 14 minutes of stops on the vyper, strange how they took 20 minutes to count down???? I dont think the ferry minded the diversion.

The dissused sewer pipe was interesting. There were squat lobsters that were bigger than the resident spider crabs,I have seen smaller lobsters. I found a mussel that I measured against my hand, from finger tip to heel of thumb, a full 6 1/2 inches. It was huge! made me wonder how dissused the pipes were, or if the local nuclear power station was assisting!

Nice to meet some faces to go with the names, though Jen all ready knew James(narked@50) from a diving course it turned out!

Trip back was mared by thunder, rain and a motorcycalist looking in poor shape on the M6.

The Clutha is a great boat, looks a little odd, but turns like a rib!

Jamesp
