I forgot a few things sorry. When we arrived in Howth, down came the Red Ensign and up went the Irish tricolor and there were some very giddy divers on board trying to take pictures of some seals in the harbour, they just know you want their pictures. Hey Mick I had a great time and two lovley dives on the Leinster, as for the ferries I think the Cicala crew knew when they were due.

Great weekend

This was a fab weekend.

Holyhead remains a dump inhabited by some very strange people. eg We came across a post box with smoke coming out of it, what do the local lads do? They give it a hug, very odd.

How a bunk can collapse in the middle of the night is beyond my understanding............

As Fiona mentioned the restaurant I did warn people in advance about the dubious quality of the food, but having staff that could not undertsand english was a bit of a liability. I am sure that we set anglo-asian relations back a few generations.

On the first dive my green force decided to sulk and so had to borrow a torch from Rob and I had cleverly left my backup on the boat. I was very stressed on the first dive and sucked air for England, so glad of the twins. This was anenome city with plenty of lobster, conger, flatfish etc to be found

Dive two, well we found the sea bed. It was sandy. At least the green force started to work.

Back on the Leinster and the torch back in action Rob felt the force. Light sabre illuminating plenty of wildlife including two huge lobster, some wrasse, and my first pollack of the year, now that was a fish and a half, allowing for magnification and diver exaggeration it was about 4 foot long.

The St Cicalla is not quite what she seems. Her holds are literally bomb proof, the compressor and gas mix facility is rather good, and the two 19" monitors (sonar and GPS)in the bridge will make most techies drool.

Great crew, very friendly, helpful, and heaps of food available. Linda does a mean chilli.

Ron
Great weekend and looking forward to the next.

Howth

Howth was lovely, sunny and warm. So I rang my beloved to let her know where I was, and how nice it was in Ireland. As it was cold and wet in Bedfordshire and SWMBO wants to visit the emerald isle this call may not have the smartest thing I have ever done.

However one can see just how easy it is to enter some countries, there were no checks or anything.

The seal photos are pretty good.

Talking Sounds like a great trip!

A great report Fiona,
looks like you all had a great time.
Must organise myself some weekend and head back over, I lived in Dublin for 2 years and have very fond memories! I hadn't started diving at the time so didn't have that experience

Aye, it was a great weekend, Thanks to everyone for making it one of the best trips I've ever been on. Fiona, Thanks for being a good room mate - and Ian, it wasn't the middle of the night it was on the Saturday morning

Richie, as always you are a pleasure to dive with, even if I did let the camera occaisionally rule me and the rest of you, well all I can say is

A special thanks goes to the St. Cicala and her crew and thank you to Ron for arranging it, definitely up for it again.

I had a bit of a kit disaster on Saturday morning when my twinset maded a pretty impressive 180 off the kitting up bench and knackered the LH first stage, I don't think even a mighty Poseidon is designed to take that sort of force - Thankfully a spare was given straight away and I borrowed Richies spare for the remainder of the weekend. 2 cracking dives on the Leinster, one was slightly longer than the other and a great dive across the sea bed. I'll post some pictures when I get chance, if they're any good.

Once again, Thank you all,

Noel.

You as well !!! You might feel slightly better when you learn that the same thing happened to another YD'r over the weekend - right hand post I think.
